Operations Technician

Responsibilities

• Ensure plant equipment is properly lined up, controlled, and monitored for safe and efficient operations
• Responsible for the operation of the production units, boilers and cooling towers, waste treatment unit, and product loading
• Perform minor maintenance and laboratory work
• Perform equipment cleaning
• Initiate work permits to ensure safety/efficiency of plant equipment
• Active participation and compliance with site Total Safety Process
• Understand and comply with good manufacturing practices to support quality and safety of animal feed (as part of FAMI-QS) and overall product quality (as part of ISO 9001)
• Must be able to work in an industrial environment, which includes lifting 50 lbs., climbing to heights, work in confined spaces, and pass a physical/respirator fit test
• Able to serve on emergency response team/fire brigade
• Able to learn and qualify in multiple unit processes
• Flexibility to work rotating 12 hour shifts, weekends, holidays, and call-outs

Education

High School diploma or GED required; Process Technology degree or certification highly recommended

Experience

2-5 years experience in a petrochemical or manufacturing environment. Technician must have necessary qualifications to advance through the progression levels
