About the role

Trillium Foods is looking for an Operations Technical Writer to create and maintain clear, practical documentation and training materials for our manufacturing operations. This is a hands-on role that works directly with Maintenance, Cooks, Line Operators, Line Leads, Quality, Safety, and Operations teams on the production floor.

Responsibilities

  • Create, update, and maintain SOPs, Work Instructions, Preventive Maintenance (PM) procedures, checklists, and other technical documentation for plant equipment and operational processes.
  • Provide documentation and training support for Maintenance, Cooks, Line Operators, Line Leads, and other Operations personnel.
  • Work directly with employees and subject matter experts on the production floor to observe, understand, and accurately document equipment operation and manufacturing processes.
  • Develop machine-specific training materials, visual job aids, and step-by-step instructions to support consistent and effective employee training across production equipment.
  • Develop and maintain equipment centerlines, including standard operating settings, parameters, specifications, and procedures.
  • Support the Preventive Maintenance System (PMS) by creating, organizing, and maintaining accurate equipment and maintenance documentation.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Safety, and Training to ensure procedures and training materials accurately reflect current plant practices and requirements.
  • Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits by ensuring required documentation is accurate, current, organized, and readily available.
  • Maintain effective document control, including revisions, approvals, version history, distribution, and removal of obsolete documentation.
  • Take photographs and create visual references of equipment, components, controls, and process steps to enhance SOPs, Work Instructions, and training materials.

Qualifications

  • Strong writing, organization, and attention to detail.
  • 1–3 years of related experience preferred.
  • Comfortable working in both an office and manufacturing environment.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred; food or beverage experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% to other company locations.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday–Friday. This position will primarily support 1st and 2nd shift operations, with schedule flexibility based on training, documentation, and operational needs.
