The 70,000 square foot facility employs approximately 200 team members and specializes in advanced machining of complex instruments for the large joint, spine, and trauma markets. Key products include instruments, implants, and trials.

Responsibilities

  • Receive all raw materials, sub-components, components, purchased devices, packaging material, and other inventory items used in Orchid manufactured products.
  • Pull finished components and issue them to shop work orders.
  • Saw raw materials and deliver to specified production areas.
  • Generate and maintain data for documentation control.
  • Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material, and unusual conditions to the department Supervisor or Lead.
  • Use hand trucks, pallet jacks, carts, and tables to safely transport product.
  • Dimensionally inspect work using tools such as calipers, comparators, pin gauges, measuring instruments, and surface plates.
  • Maintain work area, tools, and equipment in a clean and organized condition.
  • Complete all required training.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and EHS initiatives.
  • Adhere to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Follow work orders to perform operations on various parts and products.
  • Follow designated safety rules and regulations; reinforce safety expectations and report concerns to Supervisor.
  • Perform weekly housekeeping per 5S schedule.
  • Assure compliance to Orchid requirements during cp crib, raw material processes, receiving, and shipping processes.
  • Perform cycle counts and/or physical inventories as required.
  • Physically load and unload products at the loading docks.
  • Review packing slips for accuracy against the original purchase order and physical count.
  • Use the production management database system for cp crib, raw material, receiving, and shipping scripts.
  • Communicate nonconformance to Quality Control.
  • Assure part identification as part of the receipt function.
  • Create and release SWOs per GYRO and Work To List.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of prior work experience in inventory control (cp crib and raw material), receiving, shipping, manufacturing, or quality control, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Preferred).
  • Associate’s degree (Preferred).
