About the role

The Operations personnel supports the warehouse by performing basic office functions such as answering phones, entering data into the WMS using spreadsheets and database software, maintaining records, compiling poundage reports, reporting in-stock status, labeling changes, creating and editing labels. They also assist will call customers by invoicing their orders and taking payments, being responsible for cash/check/credit card handling, creating warehouse/production labels as needed, stock adjustments/distress forms, alerting appropriate personnel, entering/reviewing required paperwork for inter-company transfers, entering received product quantities into company’s front-end systems, participating in special projects, responding to inquiries, and providing backup in other areas of operations and/or administrative departments. They must maintain regular communications with all necessary departments to ensure operations are functioning satisfactorily. Special projects may include responding to inquiries and referring to proper managers.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and be able to work overtime and holidays as needed
  • Print and maintain customer orders
  • Absorb and respond to inquiries and refer to proper manager
  • Create warehouse/production labels as needed
  • Stock adjustments/distress forms; alert appropriate personnel
  • Enter/complete required paperwork for inter-company transfers
  • Enter received product quantities into company’s front-end systems
  • Participate in special projects necessary for the departments and or company
  • Maintain regular communications with all necessary departments to ensure operations are functioning satisfactorily
  • May provide back up in other areas of the operations and or administrative departments

Requirements

  • Ten Key by touch / 5,000 keystrokes per hour
  • Intermediate knowledge of word processing and excel
  • Proven problem-solving skills able to deal with a variety of details simultaneously
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently
  • Professional phone manner
  • Proven interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on attention to detail
  • Must be skilled in time management and be capable of meeting deadlines with accuracy

Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
