Operations Supervisor (Slab)
About the role
The Operations Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the Slab department, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety and quality standards. They are responsible for supervising and training a team of approximately 5-10 members, managing equipment like overhead cranes and forklifts, and maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
Responsibilities
- Ensure proper staffing to handle varying workload volumes.
- Manage workflow of the Slab department with a team of 5-7 employees.
- Unload inbound cargo containers, move slabs, order pick, and load functions safely.
- Maintain and manage Safety and Quality standards and processes.
- Ensure timely performance of the Slab Department, working closely with Leads and Team Members to meet customer orders' standards.
- Conduct daily/weekly/monthly safety, quality, and productivity reporting.
- Drive a Safety First Culture at all times.
- Maintain a clean and hazard-free warehouse operation.
- Provide leadership, training, and supervision to approximately 5-10 team members.
- Supervise and operate overhead crane and team members.
- Supervise and operate forklift and team members.
- Continuously develop leadership capabilities and professional growth of the team.
- Perform all facility/equipment maintenance and supplies.
- Perform additional duties as required and/or requested.
Requirements
- High School Education or Equivalent required.
- 2+ years of specific relevant work experience in a Leadership Role.
- Bachelor's Degree with emphasis on Logistics or Operations Management preferred.
- Forklift experience a plus.
- 2 years of experience with overhead cranes preferred.
- Large Stone Slab experience preferred.
- Must have 2 years of supervisory/management experience.
- Must have supervised at least 5-7 team members.
- Must have 2 years of Distribution Center Operations experience.
- Lean Manufacturing principles highly desired.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Related industry experience; natural stone, tile or hard flooring industries preferred.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Distribution and Warehouse Management applications.
- Demonstrated leadership and managerial abilities.
- Excellent oral and written English language communication skills.
- Provide high level of customer service.
- Must have excellent People Management and Time Management skills and abilities.
- Good organizational skills.

Pay
This hourly, non-exempt position pays from $26 to $29 per hour, with overtime compensated at 1.5 times the base rate. New hires usually earn between $74,330 and $82,820 annually, or more, depending on experience, overtime hours, and bonuses.
Schedule
Work Hours: Monday to Friday from 06:30 AM to 05:00 PM, 2 Saturday(s) a month from 08:00 AM to 01:00 PM
