Operations Supervisor - Second Shift

Summary

SMS group is an industrial equipment manufacturer for the steel industry. This position oversees production departments to ensure products meet specifications and operational standards.

Responsibilities

• Reviews production orders and schedules to plan department operations
• Coordinates manufacturing activities to meet deadlines and quality standards
• Inspects machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety
• Develops and implements standard operating procedures
• Resolves worker grievances and addresses operational issues
• Monitors production data and maintains records
• Ensures adherence to safety policies and conducts hazard assessments
• Provides leadership on safety, quality, and productivity
• Maintains a visible presence on the shop floor to enforce policies and address concerns

Requirements

• 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of overall professional experience in management or specific discipline
• 2+ years in a position of similar complexity, scope, size, and impact
• Knowledge and experience in manufacturing gained at successive levels of responsibility in multiple areas of plant/factory/heavy industrial environment(s)
• Knowledge of corporate policies and compliance
• Demonstrated success in achieving results using team-driven philosophies
• Demonstrated proficiency in supporting corporate interests from remote sites and excellent communication skills
• Experience using GSS is a plus

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in a supervisory role
• Ability to manage up to 0-25 employees
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
