Operations Supervisor (Night Shift)

About the role

The Operations Supervisor will oversee operational performance by assisting and covering fellow managers and supervisors with daily assignments, focusing on volume, call-offs, and employee training needs. Proper communication with management and team members is crucial.

Responsibilities

  • Mitigate and monitor: careless behavior, breakage, idle & over-time, and excessive or inappropriate supply usage
  • Follow safety, security guidelines as communicated, pertaining to cleanliness, PPE compliance, biomechanical techniques, potential hazards, MHE certs, suspicious activity and theft
  • Open/closing/resetting work areas and/or buildings as dictated by protocol
  • Audit work area drops zones to ensure product is physically and electronically handled correctly
  • Survey assigned work area(s) daily to identify & correct issues that aren't in line with shift/company goals regularly throughout the shift
  • Maintain logs pertinent to payroll and employee information as needed
  • Verify punches, approve overtime, and record leave via daily / weekly inputs
  • Assist with hiring, reprimanding and discharging for direct reports under management supervision
  • Author and submit injury, disciplinary and any other assigned forms in a timely manner following company standards and protocols
  • Train, develop, lead, counsel, delegate and performance coach to ensure nightly objectives are met
  • Conduct team meetings on subject matter delegated by Warehouse Management, as well as HR and Safety
  • Monitor and maximize employee engagement via recognition and accountability interactions with direct reports
  • Ensure safety guidelines are communicated and followed by direct reports
  • Ensure equipment assigned to or required by direct reports is maintained, available and functioning properly

Physical Demands

Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibrations where noise levels can be loud. Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing throughout the day. Items will weigh up to 50 pounds that will require frequent lifting, stacking, moving and rotating without handles and pushing/pulling carts with up to 100 pounds of force.

Work Schedule

This position works the Night Shift, Sunday through Thursday, and occasionally Fridays based on business needs and holiday schedule.

Pay & Benefits

  • Paid semi-monthly starting at $60,000 - $75,000 per year
  • Potential quarterly bonuses up to 2.5% of annual salary ($1,500 - $2,125 per quarter)

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2-3 consecutive years of experience in a warehouse lead or supervisor role using warehouse management systems
  • Minimum 5 years of experience sorting and picking or production in a warehouse distribution center (food and beverage industry preferred)
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment
  • Ability to be active and on your feet for an entire shift

Additional Requirements

  • Adhere to the policies and procedures outlined in the employee policy manual and any applicable contracts, signed agreements, and work rules
  • Cooperate with all management and staff of GLWAS
  • Follow all MLCC rules and regulations, as they apply to the position
  • Use alcohol in a responsible manner when related to business activities
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
