About the role

A Production Supervisor oversees manufacturing products using safe and efficient processes by managing production team members. This role ensures products are produced safely, with the highest quality and timeliness, while maintaining a commitment to process improvement and business initiatives such as Six Sigma, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing.

Under minimal direction, the Production Supervisor manages all production employees, safety, scheduling assignments, line balancing, evaluation and control of build, monitoring of customer production and quality requirements, control of scrap and rework, efficiency, overtime application, and documentation of these activities. This role acts as the primary contact for in-house departments regarding production-related issues in the assigned area and motivates staff to work collaboratively as one team.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements while promoting a safe work environment and taking corrective action as needed.
  • Lead daily production operations by monitoring performance, resolving production issues, coordinating across departments, and adjusting schedules to meet customer requirements.
  • Manage workforce planning, including staffing allocation, employee training, temporary labor coordination, attendance tracking, and overtime authorization.
  • Provide leadership in employee relations by coaching staff, addressing personnel issues, and administering disciplinary actions when required.
  • Review production metrics, operating plans, and performance standards to drive accountability and achieve short- and long-term business objectives.
  • Champion continuous improvement and lean initiatives while making real-time decisions on resource allocation, production priorities, and customer delivery commitments.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment involving heavy assembly, tensioning, crane lifting, and machining.
  • Manufacturing experience in scheduling, line supervision, industrial engineering, or production control is a plus.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and/or 5S.
  • Working knowledge of MRP and Quality Control systems.
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Excellent, demonstrated experience with computers and Microsoft Office software.

A Bachelor's Degree (BS/BA) or associate's degree is preferred but not required.

This role is part of the Gas Services division, which focuses on low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. The division encompasses zero or low-emission power generation, gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, and decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
