Summary
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, inventorying, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts, in stockroom, warehouse, or yard.
Schedule
3/12 – Friday–Sunday, 5:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Responsibilities
- Maintain adequate records of inventory adjustments – cycles, physicals and catch weight audits performed
- Assist with Inventory Control; maintains inventory accuracy
- Maintain Supply Areas
- Maintain computerized records of inventory; perform cycle count; investigate variances; adjust inventory records as required
- Review inbound appointment log and open order report each day in order to plan work activities
- Plan inbound and outbound schedules accordingly to meet customer metrics
- Determine staffing needs based on workload and schedule staff accordingly
- Assign workers to specific duties based on workload and shipping schedules
- Review and update operational procedures as necessary and ensure they are communicated to and understood by warehouse associates
- Track productivity and quantify performance by individual, function, and department
- Work with Inventory Control to ensure the highest level of inventory accuracy possible
- Manage payroll of department
- Advise employees on handling of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems
- Trace history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommend remedial actions to resolve discrepancies
- Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow
- Issue written and oral instructions
- Ensure that proper safety procedures are followed
- Maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises 20+ employees in the area of Operations. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
