Basic Job Functions
SUMMARY:
The Operations Supervisor I is responsible for supporting and engaging production associates, ensuring that daily production goals and quality standards are met and maintained, and upholding a safe environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform final assemblies of door orders and manufactured parts per the daily production schedule.
- Read and follow blueprints, work orders, and other instructions to build and assemble parts accurately and promptly.
- Ensure production process inspections meet the highest quality standards.
- Prioritize, schedule, and direct the work of assigned associates to maintain efficiency, meet standard of excellence, and achieve financial and performance goals.
- Evaluate processes and methods, recommend improvements, and enhance production methods, equipment, performance, utilization of associates, and quality of product.
- Communicate and maintain close contact with Operations Manager, Operations Supervisor II, and production associates to ensure unity and clear communication through personal interactions and meetings.
- Review and schedule daily labor requirements with Operations Manager.
- Prepare, analyze, and submit data/reports to other departments.
- Develop, empower, and lead a strong, cohesive, and collaborative diverse team by providing ongoing feedback, cultivating their capabilities, and utilizing their strengths while ensuring compliance with Company values, policies, and procedures.
- Facilitate training and development opportunities for new and existing production associates to ensure successful associate experience as related to onboarding, learning plans, and career pathways.
- Manage conflicts and performance issues, recognize achievements, provide feedback, and address inefficiencies, actions contrary to guidelines, or violations of Company policies.
- Maintain a positive health and safety culture by practicing safe working methods, adhering to company safety policies, and ensuring work areas are presentable at all times.
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong mechanical assembly background.
- Ability to prioritize work load and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to read and interpret reports, work instructions, and blueprints.
- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to develop, empower, and lead a team.
- Ability to collaborate and function as a member of a team.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Ability and means to travel as needed, proof of valid driver’s license, liability and property damage insurance on personal vehicle used is required.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to lift 50 - 75 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to squat, kneel, and stand frequently.
- This position is exposed to dust/dirt frequently and fumes, vapors, and mists occasionally.
- This position is in a manufacturing environment where the noise level is high.
Education and Experience
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Two to four years related experience and/or training.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
