Field Supervisor – Transportation Services

About the role

The Operations Supervisor supports the field operations of Transportation Services, including managing the Gated Parking Decks and providing direction for campus enforcement. This position serves as the primary operational decision-maker during assigned shifts and is empowered to resolve customer concerns, manage staffing resources, direct field operations, coordinate parking facilities, and ensure service excellence across parking decks, visitor operations, enforcement activities, and events. The supervisor maintains responsibility for the safe, efficient, and professional delivery of parking and transportation services while exercising independent judgment in operational matters.

Responsibilities

• Manage Gated Parking Decks and campus enforcement activities.
• Support daily and event operations, including large events on working days.
• Resolve customer concerns and make operational decisions with minimal management intervention.
• Direct field operations and coordinate parking facilities.
• Ensure service excellence across parking decks, visitor operations, enforcement, and events.
• Develop staff and maintain operational continuity.
• Enforce policies and procedures, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Associate Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; Penn State does not sponsor employment visas for this position.
• Successful completion of background checks in accordance with University policies.

Schedule

• 4 days a week, 10-hour days (Sunday through Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.).
• Mandatory overtime for large events.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $44,628.00 - $64,668.00.
