About the role

We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Operations Supervisor to join our team and contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality, engineered solutions to our customers worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Cook up a team of department leads in the surface grinding, Wire EDM, CEDM & Machining departments providing guidance, deconfliction, and support to achieve optimal performance across entire business unit.
  • Assist in planning and organizing the daily activities of all Departments to ensure efficient and effective operations to meet customer requirements and lead times.
  • Work closely with Production Scheduler/Planner to ensure available resources match planning constraints.
  • Develop and maintain standard work instructions and ensure adherence to established procedures.
  • Ensure all processes are conducted in accordance with safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
  • Collaborate with all departments to improve processes and resolve issues.
  • Monitor operational metrics, identify areas for improvement, and develop and implement action plans to improve performance.
  • Lead root cause analyses and develop corrective actions to resolve issues in your department.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing lean manufacturing principles and tools to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and increase profitability.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new projects.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with team members, internal and external customers, suppliers, and consultants as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Paylocity – assist in approving timesheets bi-weekly, approve PTO requests, and provide annual appraisals for team members.
  • Work from blueprints, sketches, or computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) files
  • Absorb internal and external customers as needed with various manufacturing processes.
  • Inspect work area to ensure that no obvious issues with equipment or safety exists.
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify strength and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Perform other work-related duties and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Completion of high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Five years’ working experience in similar work environment.
  • Blueprint reading, metalworking, drafting classes.
  • Desire to take classes as needed to gain additional skills needed to succeed in tool and die manufacturing.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to evaluate objectively, fairly, and consistently.
  • Ability to use common tools.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Possess strong mathematical skills.
  • Ability to multitask when required to operate multiple machines when required.
  • Ability to push a minimum of 100 pounds; ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Standing, walking, bending, sitting, kneeling, stooping, crouching, laying horizontally, and climbing.

Qualifications

  • Completion of high school diploma or GED equivalent.
