Operations Supervisor

HOURS

Monday-Friday 7am-4pm

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Take ownership of area’s performance including safety, quality, and productivity
• Hold team members accountable to standards
• Weekly presentations to management team regarding area performance
• Oversee end-to-end quality and shipping operations
• Defect resolution, compliance, documentation, logistics coordination, and cross-functional communication
• Data analysis to identify trends and predict maintenance needs
• Lead improvement events to increase productivity, minimize unsafe conditions, and reduce customer rejections
• Line setup and quality validations
• Participation in 8D and 5 Why meetings
• Identify and lead productivity projects to improve uptime and throughput
• Monitor attendance, vacation, and sick time
• Take disciplinary actions when necessary
• Maintain safety requirements and OSHA standards
• Collaborate with Scheduling and Maintenance departments
• Prepare and maintain monthly/daily reports
• Identify and propose capital improvement projects
• Aid in the training of new operators
• Support continuous improvement initiatives

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Compliance with safety rules and requirements
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality standards
• Strong mathematics skills
• Critical thinking skills
• Effective communication and organizational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• A bachelor’s degree preferred
• 3-5 years of formal education or equivalent experience and training
• Experience in Lean Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma Problem Solving desired

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Safety sensitive position
• Both office and manufacturing settings
• 75% of time spent on plant floor
• Minimal to moderate noise in office
• Moderate to high levels of noise in manufacturing setting
• Varying temperatures based on weather conditions
• May require personal protective equipment for safety compliance
