Now Hiring: Transportation Operations Supervisor

Location: Jackson, MS

Pay Rate: Salary $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrates and promotes a safe work environment at all times
• Insures drivers have the daily paperwork necessary to complete their routes. Insures completed charter paperwork is received by the Location Manager for processing.
• Covers field trips by assigning personnel and vehicles.
• Aids drivers in establishing route descriptions under the direction of the Location Manager.
• Ensures drivers adhere to scheduled fueling and mechanical work.
• Observes safety practices of personnel and takes corrective action when necessary.
• Aids in training sessions and kick-off meetings.
• Attends disciplinary meetings with the Location Manager.
• Might interact with school officials on routine matters at smaller bus locations. Might drive a bus occasionally if needed. Assists the dispatcher when necessary.
• Might manage small locations under the overall direction of the Location Manager.
• Ensures routes comply with state, local, and vendor requirements.
• Reviews time sheets before submission to payroll.

Qualifications/ Minimum Experience or Skills Required

• 3-5 years' experience in the transportation industry
• Good supervisory skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Good interpersonal and computer skills

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Must be able to move about the office and in the surrounding company facility outside the office (e.g., bus parking lot)
• Utilize standard office equipment
• Access filing system/cabinets
• Communicate effectively and efficiently in person or by telephone
• Drive company or personal vehicle to deliver training in multiple locations
• The job is performed under temperature extremes and low-level risk
• Physical demands include, but are not limited to, significant lifting, carrying, pulling and/or pushing, frequent stopping, kneeling and crouching
