Major Duties
Classified as Exempt / Non-Bargaining, the Field Operations Supervisor at Fidium Fiber plays a pivotal role in leading and supporting field operations. Responsibilities include:
- Planning, organizing, and overseeing daily field operations such as construction, installation, repair, maintenance, and equipment deployment.
- Translating organizational and departmental objectives into measurable team goals and performance expectations.
- Maintaining operational excellence through effective resource allocation, workflow management, and adherence to service-level commitments.
- Monitoring operational performance and implementing corrective actions to achieve productivity, quality, customer service, and financial targets.
- Directly supervising, coaching, and developing employees to maximize performance and engagement.
- Fostering a culture of accountability, safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Addressing employee relations matters and providing guidance on performance and behavioral issues.
- Ensuring accountability for operational results, resource utilization, and workforce productivity.
- Exercising sound judgment in resolving complex operational, technical, and personnel issues.
- Serving as a subject matter expert on complex operational issues and large-scale projects.
- Supporting and leading process improvement initiatives that drive operational efficiencies and contribute to regional and enterprise objectives.
- Identifying opportunities to streamline business processes through best practices, automation, and emerging technologies.
- Utilizing data analytics and reporting tools to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), operational trends, and customer service metrics.
- Developing and implementing action plans based on performance data to improve operational effectiveness.
- Building and maintaining productive relationships with contract partners and vendors to ensure alignment with company goals, service standards, and contractual obligations.
- Providing technical leadership and subject matter expertise across multiple complex projects and operational initiatives.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of new operational processes, standards, and best practices.
- Delegating assignments and providing guidance to team members to ensure successful project and operational outcomes.
Qualifications
- Broad knowledge of field operations, construction, installation, maintenance, and service delivery functions.
- Strong leadership and management skills, including employee development, performance management, coaching, and conflict resolution.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience using data-driven decision-making to improve operational outcomes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related business applications.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required.
- A minimum of six (5) years of progressively responsible experience in field operations, telecommunications, construction, maintenance, or related discipline.
- A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory, managerial, or team leadership experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing operational performance metrics and achieving business objectives.
- A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- The ability to travel within the service area as business needs require.
- Project management experience preferred.
