The Operations Supervisor role is all about providing leadership and supervision to a highly efficient, multi-station production department. This includes managing inventory and replenishment, overseeing the production process (from the intake of customer orders to ensuring timely and quality order completion and delivery to our customers).
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily activities in line with SOPs, holding a team of associates accountable to safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Actively contribute to the growth and development of CIA direct reports.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Achieve and uphold compliance with all company and federally mandated regulations regarding Safety, OSHA, HazMat, and DOT.
- Responsible for ensuring associate safety, quality, and productivity performance.
- Address and resolve daily issues as they arise.
- Plan and coordinate shift activities within the fulfillment center to ensure adherence to all DC procedures.
- Assist the Manager in planning, prioritizing, and communicating shift directives to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and quality for all outbound activities.
- Ensure all shift personnel receive proper training, skill development, and assessment per company guidelines.
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance employee efficiency and effectiveness for increased shift contribution.
- Set specific objectives and performance measures for all shift personnel to maximize productivity.
- Lead special fulfillment projects as needed.
- Be accountable for achieving production objectives.
- Monitor all production and personnel statistics and reporting to support departmental operations.
- Reinforce compliance with policies and procedures.
- Participate in the recruiting and selection process.
- Conduct performance reviews and implement corrective actions as appropriate.
- Implement performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Collaborate with peers and related staff across all departments to implement fulfillment strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Logistics, Business, Operations or a related field, or alternatively 2 years of demonstrated managerial experience leading teams.
- Prior experience in Warehousing, 3PL, Distribution, or Manufacturing environments is preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is desired but not required.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude while multitasking, managing, coaching, and mentoring teams to succeed and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong process improvement skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective processes.
- Must demonstrate leadership and possess strong interpersonal skills, along with professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of WMS is a plus.
