Operations Supervisor

Overview

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for the performance management and professional development of the Operations team. They will supervise all staff, arrange product pickups and deliveries, communicate with transportation companies and partners, and ensure timely transfers of shipments.

Responsibilities

• Provide cost-effective, efficient, and traceable movement of AIT's products both inbound and outbound.
• Supervise all staff directly or through supervision, providing performance, job assignments, coaching, training, etc.
• Arrange product pickups and deliveries with transportation companies and route drivers.
• Actively communicate and build strong partnerships with trucking companies, internal/external customers, customs brokers, sales forces, and vendors.
• Receive shipping quotes, decide on the best carriers based on cost, availability, and reliability, and analyze and research orders to ensure lowest cost transportation.
• Manage daily routes/schedules of shipments and deliveries, track progress of shipments, and oversee cartage setup over weekends.
• Administer and supervise; exercise judgment in appraising situations and making decisions regarding staff management.
• Tailor communication (both written and verbal) according to appropriate audience.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and vendors.
• Ensure safe working environment through consistent practice of safety programs and procedures.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma Required
• Experience: 3-5 years experience in freight forwarding or transportation Required
• Skills and Abilities: AS400 (Medium proficiency), Cargowise (Medium proficiency), McLeod (Medium proficiency), Microsoft Office Suite (Medium proficiency)

Wage Range

The wage range for this position is $60,900.00-$91,340.00 and may vary based on geography as well as relative knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience.
