About the role
The Warehouse Supervisor coordinates all daily warehouse activities, including shipping and receiving of customer products, across multiple shifts.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate unloading of inbound shipments, stacking of product, and picking and staging of outbound shipments for maximum productivity
- Ensure efficient and safe operation of all materials handling equipment
- Establish and implement work schedules and assign job duties for timely completion
- Maintain product locator system and optimize space utilization
- Maintain warehouse security and cleanliness through effective housekeeping
- Promote and enforce safety in all operations
- Direct work teams to achieve operational objectives
- Complete records and reports accurately and on time
- Ensure inventory integrity and assist in physical inventories
- Maintain strict sanitation standards per Sunland and customer requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory responsibilities
- Train, plan, assign, and direct work for forklift drivers, team leaders, and warehouse personnel in accordance with company policies and applicable laws
Requirements
- Experience in warehouse supervision or equivalent
- Broad knowledge of warehouse operations
- Ability to calculate figures and interpret technical documents
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
- Team-oriented mindset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- College degree or High School Diploma with 1–3 years of warehouse management experience
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain)
- Valid Driver’s License or equivalent
Physical demands
- Ability to sit or stand as needed
- Periodic walking on level surfaces throughout the day
- Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
Work environment
- Exposure to warehouse areas requiring personal protective equipment (safety glasses with side shields, foot protection)
- Frequent exposure to hot, humid, and cold conditions
- Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals
- Moderate noise level
