About the role
Pet Food Experts (PFX) is the nation’s leading pet specialty distributor, serving over 10,000 pet retail locations nationwide. As an Operations Supervisor, you will plan, organize, and monitor the storage, selection, and distribution of products while leading a warehouse team to ensure efficient and accurate order fulfillment.
Responsibilities
- Manage warehouse activities, coordinating operations to ensure timely and accurate product selection and loading.
- Plan and coordinate employee work schedules, train and motivate team members, and evaluate performance.
- Ensure team members perform essential warehouse functions accurately while fostering high morale.
- Provide hands-on instruction and direction to support operational success.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels to meet warehouse distribution goals.
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, promoting, disciplining, and off-boarding processes as needed.
- Review employee performance and provide feedback for improvement.
- Develop and maintain continuous training and cross-training programs to enhance safety and efficiency.
- Identify and implement process improvements in warehouse operations.
- Comply with all safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience in warehousing, receiving, inventory control, or shipping in a distribution environment.
- 2 years of direct supervisory experience.
- Experience in a retail distribution setting (desired).
- Ability to read, write, and understand English, including identifying numbers.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, including loading dock procedures in a distribution environment.
- Certification to operate warehousing equipment (e.g., forklift, reach truck, electric ride-on jack).
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Reliable transportation, solid attendance, and a positive, professional attitude.
- Strong working knowledge of company WMS, time and attendance systems, and Google G Suite.
- Knowledge of bar code technology, voice-directed order selection, and electronic data interchange (preferred).

Pay
$70,000–$80,000 per year, plus eligibility for an annual bonus targeting 7.5% of salary based on company goals.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, with a 1:00 PM start time.
