Supervises the daily operations of warehouse associates in an assigned department for the 2nd Shift. Partners with the Department Manager or Operations Manager to support achievement of fulfillment center results.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 11:30 AM–Close

Pay

Starting hourly rate: $26.50 plus $1.00 shift differential. Potential compensation range: $25.72 – $33.45.

Responsibilities

  • Keep accurate records of assigned department (Shipping, Receiving, Inventory, Returns).
  • Conduct routine audits and alert Manager of any irregularities in product inventory or processes (e.g., count and location errors, shortages, damages).
  • Maintain facility organization, cleanliness, and housekeeping standards; ensure all sanitation requirements are met.
  • Identify and address safety hazards.
  • Oversee the entire production flow, including unloading, staging, and put-away of merchandise and materials.
  • Perform cycle counts and evaluate product placement, storage bins, and expiration management.
  • Provide direction, assign responsibilities, and motivate the team to achieve department goals.
  • Encourage growth through skill development, goal setting, and regular performance reviews.
  • Hold direct reports accountable for performance standards and departmental goals.
  • Resolve employee issues effectively and consistently.
  • Communicate fulfillment center, network, and corporate information during daily start-up meetings.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes creativity, teamwork, and recognition.
  • Support location and network activities designed to strengthen teamwork and morale.
  • Train and coach Warehouse associates.
  • Determine proper staffing levels to maintain productivity.
  • Participate in the performance review process; recommend promotions or disciplinary action as needed.
  • Review and correct timecards for accurate payroll submission.
  • Perform additional warehouse duties as business needs arise.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years in a Patterson Fulfillment Center or equivalent experience.
  • Proven soft skills: analytical, problem-solving, communication, interpersonal.
  • Organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated success in prioritizing and time management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Previous experience with SAP and inventory management systems.
  • Previous management experience.

Working Conditions

  • Material and Equipment Used:
    • General warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
    • General office equipment.
    • MS Office, shipping, and proprietary inventory management software.
  • Physical Demands:
    • Moving 75% of the time; frequent grasping, reaching, bending, and stooping in narrow/confined spaces.
    • Lift and carry up to 55 pounds; team lift 56–100 pounds (continuous, moderate, or occasional heavy physical activity).
    • On feet (walking or standing) for more than 6 hours per day.
    • Must be able to operate a forklift.
    • Position self to lift, move, open, and flatten boxes and packaging.
  • Environmental Factors:
    • Warehouse setting for storage and fulfillment of dental, production animal, and companion animal supplies and equipment.
    • Primary work area includes pallet storage racking, roller storage, and small-item shelving.
    • Powered conveyor systems for product transportation.
    • Safety equipment provided as needed.
  • Travel and On-Call:
    • Minimum two trips per year within the United States.
    • Part of the emergency response team with on-call responsibilities.
