About the role
As part of the DSV team, Associates are expected to meet company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, and quality. Associates are expected to comply with all corporate and site-specific policies.
Responsibilities
- Supervises, manages labor, and plans daily inbound, outbound, product slotting, and customer communication activities.
- Conducts staff meetings to review daily/weekly work activities and plan for continuous improvement.
- Keeps senior management and client representatives informed of critical issues affecting operations.
- Develops systems and procedures for managing operations, equipment, and products in a safe and profitable manner consistent with company policies and guidelines.
- Manages operations to meet prescribed productivity and service goals and client-specified KPIs.
- Implements ongoing cost savings measures and provides ideas for more efficient operations.
- Applies sound communication and motivational techniques; creates programs to supervise, counsel, and discipline team members as needed.
- Provides direction and support to Human Resources, including hiring, training, and professional development programs.
- Participates in performance evaluation systems for recommending promotions, wage increases, and other HR activities.
- Has overall training and evaluation responsibilities for warehouse staff.
- Plans daily work schedules by reviewing work orders, arrival notices, and customer instructions; assesses priorities based on time sensitivity and available resources.
- Assigns duties to appropriate warehouse staff and reviews pending jobs or trends to plan for reorganization of warehouse space and staffing needs.
- Trains new staff or delegates training responsibility; assesses trainee progress and adds duties as appropriate.
- Keeps informed of quantity and quality of jobs performed throughout the day, providing guidance and advice as necessary.
- Assigns supervisory duties to experienced team members acting as leads for lower-level staff.
- Holds regular meetings with warehouse staff to assess overall status, discuss ideas for improvement, and keep staff informed of new developments.
- Assists in physical operations as needed.
- Delivers results by leveraging the right people at the right time.
- Maintains high motivation in team members to retain focus on providing the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
- Provides ongoing growth and development opportunities for team members.
- Provides input and conducts annual performance reviews for team members.
- Supports adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and trains team members accordingly.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 3 years’ experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
- 1 year experience in a supervisory role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior MHE certification or knowledge of basic MHE operation.
Pay
The expected base pay range is $65,000.00 – $75,000.00 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
