Essential Roles & Responsibilities
- Analyzing automated facility performance regarding production operations
- Providing basic technical and mechanical assistance to production operations personnel
- Analyze various tickets, work orders, records, reports and other administrative reports to manage trends and support recommendations to management
- Address electronic and automation issues in the field
- Manage and support all areas of operations to ensure internal process and daily requirements are fulfilled
- Coordinate with third party contractors to schedule and follow up on installation of PLC control hardware and various automation & measurement devices
- Ensure all work assignments are carried out with the highest level of quality and safety precautions
- Conduct business with the highest ethical standards; demonstrate decision-making skills that ensure the safety of all those associated with SM facilities
Role-Specific Technical Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced understanding of oil and gas flow operations and various equipment
- Has advanced knowledge of requirements of an automation system (Control Narrative, Cause & Effect, etc)
- The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations safely and efficiently
- Strong operational and maintenance knowledge of wellhead equipment, Hydrocarbon tanks, Facility Process, analog devices (Pressure, Level, Temperature, & Flow) and accessories
- Able to diagnose best fit applications based on engineering design
- Able to supervise contractors in safe and efficient manner
- Able to evaluate employees assigned to a crew, schedule major projects, and coordinate with other crews
- Coordinate automation related activities with operations and maintenance department; support development, enhancement, and security of various telemetry systems
- Oversee and coordinate various SCADA/I&E projects
Required Education
- High School Diploma & 5 years’ experience in control systems integration, instrumentation & maintenance
- Associates Degree & 3 years’ experience in control systems integration, instrumentation & maintenance
- Bachelors Degree & 1 years’ experience in control systems integration, instrumentation & maintenance
- Journeyman’s Electrical License & 3 years’ experience in control systems integration, instrumentation & maintenance
Required Experience
- See above
- Required experience in PLC programming
- Required experience in instrumentation configuration, installation, and troubleshooting
- Required experience in wireless communication, telemetry
- Basic knowledge in ethernet communications
- Experience in serial (RS485\RS232) modbus communications
- Experience in basic AC\DC circuitry, 3-phase power awareness, ohm’s law, and general electrical installation code
