Operations Shift Manager

About the role

The Warehouse Shift Operations Manager is responsible for planning and coordinating daily warehouse shift activities to ensure safety, quality, and productivity standards are met or exceeded.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations including selection, shipping, receiving, cross docking, and trailer loading.
• Manage Warehouse Supervisors to ensure efficient and safe operations.
• Address and resolve issues impacting labor standards and shift completion.
• Monitor labor performance and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct performance reviews, training, and career development planning.
• Apply coaching and counseling in line with company policies.
• Participate in budgeting processes.
• Flexibility to shift schedules as needed.

Environment & Skills

Work in temperature-controlled warehouses, including freezer, perishable, and grocery environments.

• Knowledge of safety regulations
• Coaching abilities
• Strong communication skills
• Conflict resolution
• Proficiency with computers
• Bilingual skills advantageous
• Certifications like Food Safety, Forklift Operation, or HACCP are advantageous

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-5 years of warehouse experience
• At least 2 years in a shift management role
• Associate or bachelor's degree or equivalent high school diploma required
