Operations Research Systems Analyst, Senior

About the Role

With all the information available today, it takes a skilled intelligence analyst to know how to find and interpret the best data to give clients the right answers. As an Operations Research Systems Analyst (ORSA), you will use your specialized operations research experience and attention to detail to develop reports that provide actionable intelligence and context. This role supports AI governance by helping clients understand testing and evaluation of AI systems. You will explore new data sources, develop effective queries, and combine information from disparate sources, validating information and building assessments for AI assurance. Your client will rely on your time-critical recommendations, often under pressure. This is an opportunity to grow your expertise, broaden your skillset into areas like data science, and mentor other analysts while delivering critical support to warfighters.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, report, and develop recommendations and assessments on data related to operational metrics.
• Develop decision support tools and models using operations research principles.
• Explore new data sources, develop effective queries, and combine information from disparate sources.
• Validate information and develop tradecraft for building assessments for AI assurance.
• Provide time-critical recommendations to clients, often under pressure.
• Share expertise with other analysts through leadership and mentoring.

Requirements

• Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) or Intelligence Community (IC).
• Ability to analyze, report, and develop recommendations on operational metrics data.
• Ability to develop decision support tools and models using operations research principles.
• Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam.
• Bachelor’s degree in Math, Data Science, Operations Research, or Engineering, and 8+ years of experience solving operational challenges and analytic problems by designing, developing, and applying decision analytics, mathematical and statistical techniques, or modeling and simulation.
• OR 12+ years of experience solving operational challenges and analytic problems by designing, developing, and applying decision analytics, mathematical and statistical techniques, or modeling and simulation in lieu of a degree.

Qualifications

• Experience in IC domains including all-source intelligence, planning, operations, or targeting.
• Ability to work a non-standard or shift schedule.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
• Master’s degree in Operations Research.

Pay

Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD).

• Non-standard or shift schedule may be required.

Work Model

This role may be remote, hybrid, or onsite:

• Remote: Primarily virtual, with occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.
• Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer facilities as needed.
• Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, collaborating directly with colleagues and customers.

Employees working virtually are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings to support engagement and effective communication.
