About the role

The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is seeking a Full-time Operations Research Analyst (ACDP) to work for Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) in the AFSC Staff, at Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, Georgia. This position offers a rewarding career with benefits.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an Accelerated Compensation for Developmental Position (ACDP) Operations Research Analyst under the direct guidance of a Senior Operations Research Analyst.
• Design, develop, and adapt mathematical, statistical, econometric, and other scientific methods and techniques for various weapons systems.
• Provide advice and insight about the probable effects of alternative courses of action.
• Apply training and/or education received and complete developmental assignments and training outlined in the formal training plan.
• Receive formal, informal, and/or on-the-job training in the specialty area.
• Assignments at this level are designed to provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the duties at the full performance level.

Requirements

• This is a professional position that demands a positive education requirement. Applicants must meet US OPM qualification requirements for position classified in the job series: 1515.
• Knowledge of mathematics and analysis to develop and use models and conduct cost estimating and analytical studies in support of weapons systems cost studies and estimating efforts.
• Ability to participate in study teams, originate new ideas, projects, and methodologies, and execute projects and/or studies within established financial and/or time constraints.
• Ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors and fundamental relationships, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions.
• Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing, as well as work in a professional manner with peers and management.

Qualifications

• Professional knowledge of a wide range of principles, concepts, and practices of operations research analyst to apply scientific methods and techniques to analyze systems, processes, and/or operational problems and procedures.
• Knowledge of mathematics and analysis to develop and use models and conduct cost estimating and analytical studies in support of weapons systems cost studies and estimating efforts; prepare reports, documentation, and correspondence to communicate recommendations/conclusions clearly.
• Ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors and fundamental relationships, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions.
• Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing, as well as work in a professional manner with peers and management.

Skills
