Full job description

  • Aid in working with and onboarding transportation partners, managing daily trips, and assisting parents and districts.
  • Daily customer management including day-to-day operations, new client start-ups, client retention, and development.
  • Assist in capturing new business opportunities with current and potential clients. Collaborate with internal staff on proposal writing and negotiation.
  • Manage staff equipment and supplies necessary for trip execution (e.g., driver/staff badges, business cards).
  • Maintain awareness of new legislation affecting alternative student transportation and assist in implementing these changes.
  • Oversee vehicle maintenance and compliance, manage a large driver and transportation partner pool, and collaborate with internal departments to execute reports and programs.
  • Ensure a safe and efficient environment for passengers, contractors, and non-riding public by adhering to regulatory and client policies.
  • Comply with First Student policies and provide excellent customer service.
  • Utilize technical skills to create reports, SOPs, and standard practices within FirstAlt.

Responsibilities

  • Find, onboard, and develop ongoing relationships with local and national transportation providers.
  • Communicate and negotiate proposed routes with local service providers during the school year startup.
  • Support the capture of new business opportunities with current and new clients. Work with internal staff on proposal completion and negotiation.
  • Ensure account efficiency and manage customer service levels according to client expectations.
  • Oversee vehicle maintenance and compliance, and manage a large driver and transportation partner pool.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to execute reports and programs aimed at improving service quality, reducing costs, and increasing productivity.
  • Ensure a safe and efficient environment for passengers, contractors, and non-riding public by managing regulatory and client policies and procedures.
  • Follow all First Student policies and procedures while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Use effective industry skills and abilities to support and grow daily transportation operations.
  • Must be able to learn and utilize technical skills to create reports, SOPs, and assist in formulating standard practices within FirstAlt.
