Responsibilities
- Deliver a positive, memorable guest experience by welcoming guests and handling admissions and operations in high-traffic areas such as the exhibit hall entrance, 4D Theater, school group check-in, special exhibits, Public Science Common, and the Theater of Electricity.
- Participate in Museum initiatives to support a welcoming and comfortable environment for guests and colleagues.
- Provide friendly, professional service by offering accurate information, addressing guest needs promptly, resolving issues effectively, and seeking support when necessary.
- Represent the Visitor Services Department and the Museum positively, ensuring interactions reflect the Museum’s commitment to a world-class experience.
- Welcome and admit guests to venues by scanning tickets and memberships, managing capacity, and enforcing admission policies for efficient and friendly entry.
- Operate theaters and venues, ensuring safety protocols, cleanliness, equipment functionality, and accessibility support to deliver a high-quality guest experience.
- Ensure a smooth experience for school groups by confirming guest counts, communicating policies to chaperones, managing belongings, and coordinating lunch rotations.
- Assist in evacuating visitors calmly and helpfully during emergencies.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned by the Manager.
Requirements

Physical Demands
- Occasional lifting (10–15 lbs), pushing, and pulling (15–30 lbs), and frequent carrying of items under 5 lbs.
- Standing 50% of the time, walking 40%, and sitting 10%.
- Regular activities include reaching, handling, balancing, crouching, and both ordinary and oratory talking.
- Requires ordinary hearing, visual acuity, and depth perception.
- Climbing, stooping, crawling, kneeling, and color vision are not routine requirements.
Schedule
Monday: 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Friday: 4:45 PM – 9:00 PM
Saturday: 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM

$19.36 USD per hour
