What you will do
- Lead a team of operations quality engineers and hardware specialists.
- Staff, coach/mentor, present to senior leadership, and conduct performance reviews.
- Engage with other factory leadership to align on top priorities.
- Ensure effective root cause analysis and implementation of corrective & preventative actions.
- Perform verification and validation of improvements to assess effectiveness.
- Baseline factory metrics (scrap, rework, FPY, etc.), identify top drivers, forecast future demand, and identify areas for improvement.
- Audit production trends using data analysis and statistical process control methods.
- Lead manufacturing team discussions to drive process enhancements and reduce variation.
- Drive Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) initiatives using baseline metrics and future demand, facilitating defect prevention.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or other technical field.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of Quality Engineering, Continuous Improvement, or related fields.
- Project management experience, including managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in first article inspection reports (FAIRs), quality monitoring, and leading root cause corrective actions for both short-term and long-term initiatives in a cross-functional matrixed environment.
- Experience in developing and using quality metrics for true root cause and long-term corrective action, and identifying/perceiving verifications.
- Experience in manufacturing process knowledge with Quality systems and industry technical standards (ISO 9001, AS9100 and/or AS9102), interpreting drawings, work instructions, Bill of Materials (BOMs), consumable materials control, process disciplines, and tool control.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
