Operations Quality Engineer Co-Op

This Operations Quality Engineering Co-Op is an 8-month, full-time, on-site position (May 2027 – December 2027) based in White Bear Lake, MN, with occasional travel to the Fridley, MN site. The role is project-focused and supports production quality through statistical analysis, qualifications, and nonconformance resolution, ensuring compliance with established procedures while driving continuous improvement within cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide general support to engineering-focused cross-functional teams across the product lifecycle, including inspection, correlation, characterization, design of experiments (DOE), PFMEA, qualification, gauge R&R (GR&R), and data analysis using sound statistical methods.
• Support the nonconforming material and product process, including investigation, disposition, and identification of corrective and preventive actions.
• Utilize statistical tools to monitor and assess product performance, identify root causes, and determine potential process improvement opportunities.
• Support system implementation and improvements, including SPC/SQS software.
• Participate in operations and quality team meetings and activities.
• Respond to changing priorities in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a comparable engineering program.
• Minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
• Ability to work full-time on-site for the duration of the co-op.
• Strong analytical skills and demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read blueprints and read or interpret standards.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as an effective team member.
• Drive to learn real-world application of academic engineering concepts.

Pay

Expected hiring range: $20.00–$26.00 per hour, based on the position and years of school completed (good-faith estimate). Base salary considers candidate qualifications, geographic location, market conditions, and internal equity.

Schedule & location
