About the role
Standex Electronics is a worldwide market leader in the design, development and manufacture of standard reed switch-based sensor solutions and custom electro-magnetic components, including magnetics products. This position involves working with customers to address their needs through innovative solutions.
Responsibilities
- Record and track customer complaints and returns
- Maintain the company non-conformance databases
- Participate in problem solving activities utilizing industry standard methodologies (8D’s, 5 why’s, 3x5, Ishikawa fish bone diagrams)
- Work with Sales and Supply chain staff on customer returns and vendor issues
- Perform initial analysis and testing on customer returns/suspect parts and disposition accordingly
- Work with Production, Manufacturing and Engineering personnel on RCCA
- Complete FAI reports per AS9102 for submittal to customer
- Conduct Process audits and participate in the Layered Process Audit program
- Plan and conduct AS9100 Internal Audits as part of audit team
- Document data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures
- Experience with APQP and PPAP process (Process Flow, PFMEA & Control Plan)
- Plan and conduct the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to ensure the quality of assigned product or component
- Develop Incoming Inspection requirements
- Quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, assist with maintaining Customer specific requirements, Supplier quality manuals and company quality records
- Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods and other Quality tools for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes
- Participate in Production and Vendor MRB activities
- Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities
- Develop procedures and work instructions as needed
- Communicate significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provide recommended process improvements to management
- Prepare reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities and present technical and program information to team members and management
- Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards
- Manage multiple demands (Internal and External) while demonstrating good attention to detail, schedules and deliverables
Requirements
- Enrolled and working towards a degree in Engineering or a related technical field of study
- Knowledge of AS9100 or IATF16949
- General interest in fast-paced manufacturing environment, process improvement, and Lean Manufacturing
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, visual) and ability to interact with associates at all levels of the organization
- Mechanical aptitude with attention to detail and ability to read/understand drawings and technical bulletins
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word / Excel
- Ability to understand and effectively communicate complex problems and situations
- Ability to learn and use ERP (Oracle) manufacturing software
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance
- Must be available to work 40 hours/week, on-site and in person
