Operations Partner
About the role
Responsible for the operation of assigned production equipment to ensure safety, quality, and production efficiency while minimizing costs, energy, and waste.
Responsibilities
- Supports Environmental Health & Safety by adhering to policies and procedures and continuously improving performance.
- Operates press, extrusion laminator, or pouch line according to specifications, including manufacturing, customer, and standard operating procedures.
- Operates a forklift truck.
- Maintains production targets and quality standards by removing flagged defects and performing quality assurance tests.
- Completes paperwork such as production reports, SOC reports, cleaning logs, QA reports, etc.
- Minimizes downtime by reducing change-over, machine startup, shutdown, and clean-up times.
- Analyzes problems and implements corrective actions.
- Accurately enters and completes necessary paperwork and forms.
- Ensures safety practices are followed and maintains a clean, safe work environment.
- Maintains established GFSI and 5S standards in the department daily.
- Supports WCOM initiatives as assigned.
- Performs other duties as directed by supervisor or management.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of manufacturing experience.
- Good computer skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to read and comprehend standard or metric rulers and use charts to convert measurements.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to train on an as-needed basis.
- Mechanical knowledge of moving equipment is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
- Continuous standing and walking.
- Exposure to noise above 85 decibels.
- Exposure to solvent odors and odors from the manufacturing process.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Sources
Internal: Daily interaction with machine operators, manufacturing supervisors, manufacturing superintendents, and plant managers regarding equipment issues, safety, productivity, and waste issues.
External: Minimal interaction with external customers, sales, and suppliers.
