Operations Mechanic I
Description
Position Summary: An ILI Operations Mechanic I is responsible for maintenance, repair, and improvements to ILI tools. This role tracks the reliability of the mechanical parts of an ILI tool investigating failures to a root cause level. Create, implement, and track corrective and preventative actions to improve the quality of the ILI tool and supporting systems. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills in the mechanical discipline allowing him or her to continually increase the run success rate. This position reports to the Maintenance and Repair Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Ensure safety is put first in the execution of all tasks and processes.
- Build, maintain and repair mechanical ILI tool components.
- Perform ILI tool repairs and/or maintenance assisting the ILI Mechanic II in troubleshooting, failure investigation and mechanical part repair and/or replacement in the field as needed.
- Aid in building, repairing and maintenance of mechanical assemblies using drawings, procedures, and verbal direction from the ILI Mechanic II and ILI Superintendents.
- Operational Excellence: Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, consistently working towards the achievement of individual and team goals.
Requirements
- Minimum: High School or equivalent experience
- PREFERRED: 2-year College and/or Technical Degree or equivalent Mechanic experience
- Authorized to work in the United States for any employer
- DOT Drug and Alcohol Test (Required as a condition of employment)
- Must be willing to submit to a Background Check (A conviction record will not necessarily bar you from being employed)
- MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) Check
- Passport or ability to obtain one in 6 months
- Ability to routinely lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Up to 20% overnight travel
