Operations Manager Trainee - Fleet Maintenance
About the role
As an Operations Management Trainee, you’ll be part of a dynamic team, equipped to succeed and empowered to develop your career with real growth in a timely fashion. This program is fast-paced and touches every aspect of the business unit, allowing you to acquire proven industry knowledge, skills, and resources to develop your relationship-building abilities. Though designed to be completed in 18-24 months, there is opportunity to finish in as little as 12 months. Relocation within the business unit at the conclusion of the training program is required.
Candidates must be flexible to work 1st and 2nd shift, with structured work weeks, rotational Saturdays (depending on branch location/hours), and competitive pay plus overtime.
Responsibilities
- Support the shop management process and assist in cost savings, customer retention, and metric-based initiatives.
- Work cross-functionally across Operations, Asset Management, Sales, Quality, and Rental.
- Handle customer relationship activities, including quality customer interface, proactive customer management, issue resolution, and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with the rental department to ensure maximum utilization without compromising lease customers.
- Partner with Sales staff on customer calls for new business and increased customer satisfaction.
- Manage running costs and maintenance overheads while ensuring policy and processes are followed.
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Asset Management, Sales, and Marketing to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Ensure accurate PM scheduling and follow-up, breakdowns, and vehicle status updates; oversee Technician work planning for efficiency, training, and flexibility.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (required).
- 1 year or more in customer service with issues resolution experience (preferred).
- Strong PC knowledge/skills, including advanced spreadsheet and word processing software (required).
- Basic understanding of Business Finance, controls, and metrics (required).

Pay
Salaried position with a pay range of $55K–$60K. The position may also be eligible for an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on level and/or type.
