About the role
The Operations Manager Trainee (OMT) role at PDS Health is designed to provide hands-on experience in operating a financially viable dental office. The OMT is expected to independently manage an office within 4-6 months after completing the OM Development Program.
Responsibilities
- Model company culture, values, standards, and best operational practices
- Assess, hire, and retain team members through comprehensive training, supervision, counseling, and coaching
- Resolve staff and patient issues by analyzing facts and developing solutions
- Drive revenue and profit growth, manage expenses to meet goals, and adhere to cash management and accounting protocols
- Show proficiency in managing a team of both front and back office staff, and demonstrate leadership and team development capabilities
- Implement an office success plan, including staff and protocol development for efficient operations during manager absences
- Other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Five or more years of related work experience in operational management
- Valid driver's license and automobile insurance, or reliable alternate transportation
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience leading teams, mentoring, and coaching subordinates
Preferred Qualifications
- Five or more years of experience leading a team, mentoring, and coaching subordinates
- Knowledge of dental plans, insurances, fees, administrative guidelines, limitations, and exclusions
- Financial acumen, including understanding profit drivers and utilizing metrics to manage
- Ability to influence others through active listening, observation, building trust, and creating a win-win situation

- Knowledge of Microsoft applications, Epic, 1VU, BOX, and standard office equipment
- Ability to multitask effectively, work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and make timely decisions
- Interpret and apply policies and procedures, understand financial reports, and communicate effectively
- Ability to create presentations and use outstanding presentation skills
Work Environment
This role involves sitting, standing, walking, typing, reaching, seeing, talking, and hearing. Occasional exposure to irate team members, vendors, or patients is possible. Field visits and driving may be required.
