Operations Manager, Manhasset

About the role

The Team: The Hermès Manhasset Boutique will open in October 2026 and focuses on providing extraordinary service to clients as a part of the New York Region. This position will report to the Managing Director and will work collaboratively with the sales team and selling support teams to support the client experience in a fast-paced, luxury environment.

Responsibilities

• Manages shipping and receiving department.
  • Assess actions to be taken with receiving issues.
  • Ensure the timely movement of merchandise and adherence to all procedural guidelines including but not limited to transfers, RTVs, damages, negative on hands etc.
• Audit and validate cash handling procedures.
• Communicate, train and implement all company policies and ensure compliance.
• Create efficient processes, set parameters and implement directives to support operational efficiency and growth.
• Perform and prepare for all inventories and cycle counts, including reconciliations of stock discrepancies.
• Manage E-time and keep accurate record of vacation and time and attendance with HR.
• Coordinate and prepare evacuation drills and provide training to team with regards to emergency response preparedness.
• Oversee all operations and after-sales supply orders.
• Train staff to ensure compliance with all operational policies and procedures ensuring policies are thoroughly communicated to all staff in a timely manner.
• Recruit and maintain an active talent bank for any operational positions.
• Supervise Inventory Control, SSA and After-Sales positions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of retail management experience in a similar role; prior experience in a luxury environment preferred.
• Proficient shipping and receiving experience.
• Excellent computer skills and proficient in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Strong POS and phone systems knowledge.
• Extensive building maintenance experience.
• Must work well under pressure and have the ability to multi-task with accuracy.
• Acute interpersonal skills and a collaborative management style.
• Familiarity with international parent companies a plus.
• Ability to lift between 0-25 lbs. without assistance.

Pay

The range for this role is $79,123.00 - $96,706.00. Actual rates are determined based on the job, location, and individual experience.
