Operations Manager II
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee our plant operations at all ground beef and value-added operations. This person will manage the overall operations of our ground beef facilities, meeting daily production goals, and managing the utilization and capacity of all plant grind rooms. This position is based at our corporate office in Greeley, CO.
Responsibilities
- Maximize value of the ground beef category across all Fed Chub Plant Operations.
- Supports, guides, and oversees quality control functions at the three Grind facilities to ensure all disciplines are in compliance with JBS specifications, codes, regulations, and requirements.
- Ensures effective quality program and process controls, audits, and food defense programs are met.
- Plans and conducts training activities related to quality and food safety.
- Manages installation, inspection, and testing procedures for Chub Ground Beef Product.
- Investigates customer complaints regarding quality issues, and communicates findings and corrective actions.
- Responsible for continuously expanding and updating professional knowledge and skills to enhance individual and team innovation and productivity.
- Setting a budget and maintaining costs within budget.
- Maintaining close communications with scheduling and sales.
- Enforce safety and sanitation regulations.
- Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the operations of beef products.
- Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
- Confer with superintendents to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
- Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
- Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect Lean point issues or FO’s.
- Demonstrate equipment operations, work, and safety procedures to new employees or assign employees to experienced workers for training.
- Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, or grievances.
- Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
- Maximize frozen inclusion.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience in case ready and/or food service strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- 7-10 years of experience in the ground beef industry strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of all aspects of operations within our beef business strongly preferred.
- Excellent conflict resolution skills.
- Management experience in the meat packing industry.
- Computer knowledge required.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Must be able to follow tasks to successful completion, delegate responsibility, and handle multiple tasks at one time.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work well with peers, employees (including hourly, salaried), and USDA inspectors.
- Must be dependable, prompt, and willing to work weekends as needed to meet daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines.
- Position requires at least 50%-75% travel to the facilities.
- Our Beef USA Division Grinding Rooms only produce Chubs; there is no Case Ready Grind knowledge needed (Lidstock/Brick/Overwrap).

Pay
Base salary range of $140,000-$155,000.
