Operations Manager, Clinical Laboratory
About the role
We're seeking a dedicated Operations Manager to join our team and help us continue delivering high-quality, compassionate care. This role integrates clinical testing resources and processes for optimal efficiency, quality, and service across all technical units of the hospital clinical laboratory.
Responsibilities
Organizes technical resources to meet or exceed service requirements, quality standards and productivity benchmarks in the hospital clinical laboratory.
Implements and integrates new technical processes, tests, methods, instrumentation, and procedures.
Serves on or ensures effective participation on Lab/ED Committee, Infection Prevention Committee, and other inter-departmental groups as assigned.
Delegates and supervises the routine operations of the Chemistry, Hematology and Microbiology Laboratories, and clinical reference lab testing.
Ensures optimal analytic quality by developing effective error detection systems and enforcing the laboratory's procedures for testing quality.
Monitors and evaluates new or revised regulatory agency and industry laws, regulations and standards applicable to assigned areas and ensures compliance.
Manages contracts and prepares for future state lab network by evaluating cost of services in the clinical lab, designing resource structures to meet future-state rapid response requirements, and developing plans for in-sourcing within the affiliate lab network to achieve improved economies of scale.
Supports enhanced physician practice, patient and staff relations, and service recovery.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum of six (6) years pertinent clinical laboratory experience, subsequent to qualifying as a technologist.
Subsequent to qualifying as a technologist, at least two (2) years of laboratory supervisory experience is required.
Licensed by NYS Department of Education (SED) as a clinical laboratory technologist.
Completes a minimum of 12 hours of technical continuing education on an annual basis.

$83,421.00 – $123,025.50 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
