Key Responsibilities
- Oversee development and implementation of underwriting platforms and tools to help drive efficient business practices and expansion of two business units.
- Lead the development and maintenance of underwriting documents for new and renewal business, ensuring alignment and compliance across departments.
- Partner with underwriting and maintain relationships with internal and external producers to support business growth.
- Improve renewal processes and technology to enhance efficiency and meet persistency goals with an enhanced focus on AI.
- Work with marketing department to launch and maintain websites for excess casualty and healthcare liability, including an additional suite of products such as brochures, knowledge articles.
- Assist with development of training programs for underwriting, claims, and marketing functions within casualty business lines.
- Establish reporting protocols in coordination with Power BI, Finance, and system partners.
- Has full HR responsibility for direct reports including making hiring decisions, training, coordinating work, establishing standards, reviewing work, conducting performance appraisals, and providing coaching or counseling.
Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of relevant and progressive experience in area of specialization
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
- 3 years of leadership experience
- Possess and have ability to apply advanced knowledge of insurance principles, practices, and procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledgeable of industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments related to applicable area of the Company’s business to proactively respond to changing business environment
- Advanced proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
What You Bring
Minimum 6 years of relevant and progressive experience in area of specialization
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
3 years of leadership experience
Possess and have ability to apply advanced knowledge of insurance principles, practices, and procedures
Excellent written and verbal communications skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
