About the role

The Operations Manager will manage the day-to-day operations of the Section of Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition, and serve as the section representative and liaison, when necessary, in issues regarding facilities, finances, and goal planning.

  • Oversee clinical provider compliance with medical staff office regulations and requirements.
  • Ensure compliance of office staff with relevant offices, University and other policies and guidelines.
  • Serve as a liaison with HR and other DOM offices and sections where requested.
  • Assist Section Chief and Administrator with operational and administrative needs as requested.
  • Ensure timely and compliant credentialing of existing clinical staff.
  • Provide support for budget processes, effort reporting and tracking, and research operations.
  • Aid in space planning and adjustments.
  • Respond to all facility problems such as furniture ordering and repairs, telecommunication requests, plant department requests, environmental issues, and all emergencies such as power outages, floods etc.
  • Coordinate construction projects, implement space assignments, and plan and respond to space needs.
  • Manage day-to-day facility issues and monitor overall environment.
  • Responsible for security/access to all sectional areas.
  • Professionally supports the clinical department management.
  • Implements plans for clinical educational programs and initiatives.
  • Acts as a liaison between the section and other University departments.
  • Performs other related work as needed.

Requirements

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field. Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Qualifications

Experience Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects, competing deadlines, and budgets. Experience in handling coordination of large initiatives, including logistics and adhering to timelines. Familiarity with general business practices. Experience working with academic research faculty and leadership. Commitment to providing a high level of service and working in a team environment. Excellent verbal, interpersonal and communication skills, orally and written. Works autonomously, effectively, and collegially. Facilitates collaboration between university and hospital leadership. Ability to understand complex operational and research-related issues. Strong project management skills, strategic problem solving and attention to detail.
