About the role
Our client is seeking an Operations Manager for a busy branch who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys leading from the front.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Branch Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the branch.
- Lead, coach, and support the Inside Sales team while fostering a positive, accountable culture.
- Ensure customer orders, quotations, and deliveries are processed accurately and efficiently.
- Oversee purchasing, inventory management, and receiving to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Build and strengthen relationships with suppliers while managing pricing, delivery schedules, and vendor communications.
- Cook up daily delivery schedules to ensure customers receive products on time.
- Help manage payroll reporting, employee scheduling, and timekeeping for warehouse and delivery staff.
- Support branch compliance with DOT requirements, preventative maintenance programs, and company policies.
- Promote a strong safety culture by helping oversee health and safety initiatives throughout the branch.
- Continuously improve warehouse organization, workflow, and operational efficiency.
- Stay informed on industry trends, product offerings, vendor changes, pricing, and market conditions.
- Develop lasting relationships with customers by delivering outstanding service and helping solve challenges.
- Participate in company meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
- Contribute ideas that improve processes, increase efficiency, and support continued branch growth.
Requirements
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a building materials, distribution, wholesale, or industrial environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to lead a team.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Experience with purchasing, inventory management, customer service, or branch operations.
- Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
