Summary
Drive continuous improvement in operational metrics while maximizing profitability within the business unit. Lead the team to exceed customer expectations and provide exceptional support to customers, team members, and shareholders.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead recruitment and retention efforts by identifying people requirements and communicating them to Functional Managers.
- Coach and mentor team members daily to ensure they deliver excellence to internal and external customers.
- Establish clear measurable goals and objectives for individual and team performance, providing ongoing feedback to Functional Managers.
- Coordinate activities of large teams during crises and ensure recognition and rewards are fair and consistent.
- Communicate effectively with the workcell, organize ideas clearly, and adapt communication styles as needed.
- Act as a communication link between the Business Unit and Operations Unit.
Leadership and Management Responsibilities
- Identify and address key factors contributing to team member turnover and implement improvements.
- Identify individual and team strengths and development needs, and coach accordingly.
- Develop and implement a customer/workcell strategy aligned with campus strategic directions.
- Provide regular updates to the Business Unit Manager, Assistant Operations Manager, and others on strategy execution.
- Develop an understanding of Functional business strategies and communicate resource requirements to Function Managers.
- Develop and execute a monthly business unit forecast, identify cost-saving opportunities, and provide feedback to managers.
- Prepare and compare forecasts with historical actual results, and communicate variances to relevant parties.
Functional Management Responsibilities
- Understand and define the customer/workcell strategy that supports campus strategic directions.
- Develop an understanding of Functional business strategies and provide regular updates to the Business Unit Manager and Assistant Operations Manager.

Technical Management Responsibilities
- Train workcell teams on management by metrics and monitor all workcell metrics for continuous improvement.
- Drive continuous improvement through trend reporting analysis and metrics management.
- Ensure procedures and work instructions are efficient and not redundant.
- Offer new ideas and suggestions for improvement, and implement new practices and processes.
- Demonstrate a commitment to customer service and solve problems quickly and effectively.
