Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure production schedules, quality standards, and customer delivery commitments are consistently achieved.
  • Lead, coach, and support production leads and manufacturing personnel while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Cook up labor, equipment, materials, and workflow to maximize productivity, efficiency, and operational performance.
  • Monitor production output, labor utilization, scheduling, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to achieve operational goals.
  • Review work orders, engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials to ensure accurate manufacturing and assembly.
  • Partner with Engineering, Purchasing, Inventory, and Materials teams to resolve production issues, support engineering changes, and ensure material availability.
  • Identify production bottlenecks and implement process improvements to increase productivity, improve quality, and reduce waste.
  • Conduct production floor audits to ensure compliance with company safety policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor products through fabrication, assembly, testing, and final completion to ensure efficient production flow and on-time delivery.
  • Train, mentor, and develop production staff while supporting onboarding, performance management, coaching, and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Participate in interviewing and hiring efforts while collaborating with Human Resources on employee development and corrective action processes.
  • Maintain accurate production records, labor reporting, and operational performance metrics, providing regular updates to leadership.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational excellence, manufacturing efficiency, and overall plant performance.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, develop, and hold employees accountable for performance.
  • Demonstrated success leading through front-line supervisors or production leads.
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing operations, production planning, workflow management, and resource allocation.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work orders, specifications, and bills of material (BOMs).
  • Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong understanding of production metrics, labor utilization, productivity measurement, and key operational performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Proven ability to identify operational issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, workplace safety practices, and quality standards within a manufacturing environment.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with experience implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies preferred.
