Management Duties
- Aid with recruitment, screening, hiring, and orientating all field staff.
- Assess, coach, and issue up to a second written warning for all field staff.
- Evaluate and address gaps and staffing needs during the workday and weekends.
- Review payroll discrepancies and report issues to the director.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and issuing medical and office supplies.
- Maintain certifications and licenses for field staff.
- Enforce company policies, procedures, and standards of good service (SOG).
- Tackle hospital and customer complaints and follow up promptly.
- Build strong relationships with partners.
Operations Duties
- Ensure ALS/CCT/BLS ambulance is always prepared to respond.
- Occasionally take on shifts in a production truck based on staffing needs.
- Communicate with dispatchers and respond to calls within designated parameters.
- Perform as a Field Training Officer (FTO).
Working Environment
The Operations Manager serves as a production team member, regularly assigned to an ambulance but also handling administrative responsibilities as directed by the Director of Operations.
Qualifications
- Nationally Registered or Commonwealth of Virginia Paramedic or EMT.
- NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800.
- BLS Health Care Provider.
- ACLS (if Paramedic).
- PALS (if Paramedic).
- Valid state-issued driver’s license.
- Associate's degree in EMS, Paramedicine, or Management preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience as an operations supervisor or equivalent role preferred.
- NIMS 300, 400.
