Operations Manager

About the role

Piper Companies is seeking an Operations Manager to lead and elevate day-to-day operational performance for a growing life insurance organization based in Raleigh-Durham, NC. The Operations Manager will play a critical leadership role overseeing multiple functional teams while driving performance, process improvements, and an exceptional client experience across the enterprise. This is a hybrid role requiring on-site presence in Raleigh-Durham, NC 3 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct leadership across core operational functions including New Business, Premium Processing, Licensing & Commissions, Client Support, Producer Services, and Claims
• Act as a subject matter resource on industry standards and continuously identify process enhancements, service improvements, and operational efficiencies
• Oversee contact center performance, ensuring high-quality customer interactions and adherence to service metrics such as turnaround time, accuracy, and volume
• Manage escalations end-to-end, partnering cross-functionally to resolve issues while maintaining strong communication with stakeholders
• Coach, mentor, and develop department leaders to strengthen team performance, engagement, and overall productivity

Requirements

• Minimum of 2+ years of leadership experience managing teams, with a strong ability to coach and motivate others
• Background within a contact center environment and/or insurance or financial services industry
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Active North Carolina Life Insurance License and demonstrated experience with annuities and qualified retirement products (e.g., IRA plans)
• Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities with a hands-on, detail-oriented leadership style

Pay

Salary range: $80,000–$100,000 annually
