About the role
Misfits Market is a mission-driven, high-growth startup focused on reducing food waste and making sustainable, high-quality groceries accessible and affordable. As the Operations Manager, you will drive the performance and success of daily operations in our food-based warehouse, overseeing scheduling, preparing reports, and increasing production through leadership and strategic planning.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a Safety-First culture in our food-based Fulfillment Center (FC), ensuring compliance with OSHA, AlB, GMP, HACCP, FSSC, and FDA standards.
- Oversee daily operations, setting KPIs, and providing feedback to direct reports to meet both long- and short-term goals.
- Lead and motivate cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative environment that meets or exceeds operational objectives.
- Champion continuous improvement, identifying opportunities and implementing new processes to meet business needs, while adhering to standard operating procedures.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration among different departments, coordinating logistics, inventory, and distribution teams to ensure a cohesive supply chain.
- Develop a highly effective leadership team by setting high standards for selection and performance, establishing clear goals, and utilizing performance tools to maximize team potential.
- Analyze production data to prepare performance reports, identify areas for improvement, and develop corrective action plans to prevent recurring issues.
- Build strong professional relationships with direct reports and site HR Business Partners, communicating urgent issues and maintaining accurate administrative records.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous leadership experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for operating plants
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, delegate tasks, and manage time efficiently
- Experience conducting root cause analysis investigations
- Experience training others on new processes or procedural updates
- Aptitude for equipment operation and troubleshooting
- Strong team management skills, including supervising multiple teams
- Experience leading and motivating large teams
- Strict adherence to company standards and safety procedures
- Excellent leadership, team building, and people management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and communication abilities
- Able to analyze problems and strategize for improved outcomes
- Excellent conflict-resolution and decision-making abilities
- Able to physically perform tasks such as standing, bending, squatting, and lifting up to 50 pounds
Nice to have
- Leverage of Lean Six Sigma, PMP, TPM, or other relevant certifications
- 5+ years plant operations experience
- 5+ years manufacturing experience
Details of Position & Benefits
Salary range: $70,000 - $85,000 / yr
