Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage ~100-person team to deliver the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost of production.
- Identify and address key operating challenges to continuously improve the operations.
- Covers coordination with maintenance, sanitation, and other personnel as needed to achieve desired operational performance.
- Accountable for production cost, labor utilization, waste, line efficiencies, raw material usages.
- Ensures that standard operating procedures and GMPs are implemented and adhered to consistently.
- Keeps accurate and up-to-date records (i.e., time sheets, downtime records, absentee records, etc.).
- Enforces all company policies in a fair and consistent manner.
- Produces and reports daily/weekly KPIs to illustrate business trends.
- Willingness to be on-call and respond to emergency situations as needed. This may include scheduling issues, potentially covering a vacant shift, facility issues and/or human resources requirements.
- Maintains a positive work atmosphere to get along with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
Requirements
- Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
- Direct management of 50+ individuals in a manufacturing setting.
- PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:
- Master’s Degree in Business Management, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge & understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, certifications.
- Exposure to agriculture and/or food & beverage manufacturing and/or lab processing.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience managing a P&L.
- Can-do attitude and ability to adapt quickly; business is experiencing tremendous growth so previous operational experience in growth environment is preferred.
- Adapts and thrives in a demanding, start-up/scale-up, fast-paced environment.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, non-verbal, written), with the ability to build relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.
- Possesses a high level of critical thinking.
- Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information.
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish
Pay
$100K-125K commensurate with experience plus bonus
