Operations Manager
About the role
H 2 O Innovation is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of multiple municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment facilities. The ideal candidate will provide leadership to project managers, operators, maintenance personnel, and support staff while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership for multiple water and wastewater treatment facilities.
- Ensure facilities consistently meet permit requirements, regulatory standards, and client expectations.
- Develop and implement operational strategies that improve efficiency, reliability, and service delivery.
- Maintain compliance with all EPA, TCEQ, OSHA, state, and local regulations.
- Monitor plant performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics.
- Conduct routine site visits to ensure operational consistency and compliance.
- Review operational reports and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Assist with startup and transition of new operations and maintenance contracts.
- Serve as the primary operational contact for municipal and industrial clients.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with customers.
- Attend client meetings and present operational updates, performance metrics, and improvement initiatives.
- Address client concerns promptly and professionally.
- Ensure contractual obligations and service level agreements are consistently achieved.
- Promote a culture of environmental stewardship and operational excellence.
- Promote H 2 O Innovation's Safety First culture.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Conduct safety observations and support safety training initiatives.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and accidents and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor safety performance and participate in company safety initiatives.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who possess a Texas Class A or B Water or Wastewater Operator License (or the ability to obtain one), multi-site operations management experience, experience managing municipal operations contracts, experience with SCADA systems, knowledge of CMMS software, experience managing budgets and financial performance, project management experience, strong leadership and team-building skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, and understanding of EPA, TCEQ, OSHA, and environmental regulations.
