Operations Manager

About the role

The Operations Manager oversees operations at FMC Ice Sports, which manages 25 public ice-skating arenas across Massachusetts. This position requires managing programs and services, routine maintenance, janitorial tasks, and preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations including supervising and supporting all programs and services provided by the facility.
• Supervise and support routine maintenance and janitorial functions during public hours.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks and cover shifts at West Roxbury, Burlington, and Natick facilities.
• Work independently and coordinate with other positions as needed.
• Work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet patron needs and complete job responsibilities.

Requirements

• Minimum of two (2) years' work experience in an ice arena with operational and maintenance responsibilities.
• Self-starter with problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.
• Ability to develop innovative ideas for increasing sales and controlling costs.
• Strong organizational skills and flexibility to adapt to changing schedules.
• Experience working with children of various ages and commitment to diverse participant backgrounds.
• Valid Driver's License and compliance with safety regulations for operating ice resurfacing and edging equipment.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• Knowledge of ice arena equipment and operations.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals and groups.
• Proven ability to work with and understand the needs of children and diverse backgrounds.

Pay

• Base pay range: $57,500 - $65,000 annually.
