About the role
FMC Ice Sports, established in 1992, manages high-quality ice sport facilities and programs in Massachusetts. As the largest public arena operator in the U.S., FMC operates 25 public ice-skating arenas under long-term agreements with the Commonwealth, municipalities, and educational institutions.
Responsibilities
- Oversee operations including supervising and supporting all programs and services provided by the facility.
- Routine maintenance and janitorial functions of the facility during public hours.
- Work independently and coordinate with other positions as needed.
- Work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet patron needs and complete job responsibilities.
- Focus on facility operations, staff coordination, and customer service.
Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years' work experience in an ice arena with operational and maintenance responsibilities.
- Self-starter with problem-solving abilities without constant supervision.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with diverse audiences interested in recreational activities.
- Ability to generate innovative ideas for enhancing sales and cost control.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, particularly during changing seasons and service needs.
- Experience working with children of various ages and commitment to serving participants from diverse backgrounds.
- Valid Driver's License and compliance with safety regulations for operating ice resurfacing and edging equipment.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Knowledge of ice arena equipment and operations.
- Ability to develop creative solutions to improve facility operations and services.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Experience working in a team environment and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Understanding of customer service principles and the ability to interact with a wide range of individuals.

Pay
- Base pay range: $57,500 - $65,000 annually.
- Annual increase of 2% - 4% based on performance.
- Eligible for year-end discretionary bonus.
