About the role
The Operations Manager position is available at Ferguson Integrated Supply's customer site in Arab, AL. This role supports procurement and inventory management of spare parts materials and MRO products in a pharmaceutical and manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Leading the customer’s internal plant logistics for all MRO products with a focus on cutting tools and abrasives
- Building and maintaining vendor and customer relationships
- Sourcing and procurement, reporting, cost reduction, and margin improvement
- Reviewing and maintaining inventory levels
- Formulating and implementing policies to improve service, enhance the supply chain, and increase return on investment
- Maintaining the safety and security of the facility in accordance with OSHA standards and enforcing policies, rules, regulations, and procedures
- Completing the analysis and identification of process gaps and continuous improvement opportunities, inspiring changes and lean improvements in operations
- Participating in leadership meetings and representing associate concerns, policies, and guidelines to the management team
- Representing the organization to customers, associates, and leadership as needed
Qualifications
- Background in purchasing/procurement
- Experience working with or purchasing cutting tools and abrasives
- General knowledge of MRO products
- Purchasing/Supply Chain Management certification preferred
- Ability to organize and prioritize work
- Effective communication skills in writing and verbally
- Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations to groups
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.)
- A willingness to learn how to manage a business
